Lebanon Municipal Court

Traffic Court:

Traffic court with the City of Lebanon is held at 406 Tennessee Blvd with Judge Jim Flood presiding. Court dates are held on either a Thursday or Friday date with a court time of 1 PM. If you have received a citation and you wish to see if you can take care of your matter ahead of time, you may call the Records office at 615-443-2831 

It is recommended that defendants arrive 10-15 minutes prior to 1 PM so that court may begin promptly at 1 PM. Once you arrive, please sign in with the Lebanon Police Officer or Court Clerk.

Codes Court:

Codes Court is also held at 406 Tennessee Blvd on the second Wednesday of each month at 9 AM. Questions regarding Codes citations should be directed to the Codes Department at 615-444-2323.

Animal Control:

Citations issued by a Lebanon City Animal Control Officer will follow the schedule for Codes Court. Please see the Codes Court section for further information.

Interpreter Court:

The Lebanon Municipal Court also offers Interpreter Court for individuals who need assistance with translation. Interpreter court is held on the second Thursday of each month at 406 Tennessee Blvd and begins at 10:00 AM. You may call the Records office prior to your court date to request being placed on the docket for Interpreter court. 

Trial Court:

If you wish to contest your citation, you may call the Records office in advance to request a trial date. Trial for the City of Lebanon is held the second Wednesday of each month in the same location as traffic court and a court time of 1 PM. You may bring an attorney with you, though one is not required.

Dress Codes for Court:

The Lebanon Municipal Court does have a dress code. Information regarding the dress code can be found on your citation. Please make sure to read prior to your appearance, otherwise your matter will be rescheduled. Shorts, tank tops, baggy/sagging clothing, halter tops, midriffs, greasy/unkempt clothing, and ball caps are not allowed per Judge Flood. Belts should also be worn. 

Defensive Driving School:

                  If you received a moving violation, you may be eligible to attend Defensive Driving School. Our department hosts this course every Tuesday from 6-10 PM. It is recommended you arrive 15 minutes prior to the start to sign in. If you fail to sign in, your attendance will not be counted, and you will be considered a Failure to Appear. Defensive Driving School is hosted in the Court Room at 406 Tennessee Blvd. 

You may be eligible to attend Defensive Driving School if you have not received a moving violation within the last three years and have not attended Defensive Driving School within the last three years. Please call 615-443-2831 to inquire if you are eligible. 

You may only schedule Defensive Driving School in person at 1017 Sparta Pike, Lebanon, Tennessee Monday through Friday 8 AM – 4:30 PM (closed Holidays). Payment for Defensive Driving School is due at the time of scheduling. 

The benefit of Defensive Driving School is that you will not receive points on your license for your violation. It will be listed on your Driving History as “Attended Defensive Driving School” instead of the name of the violation you were issued a citation for. 

Juveniles may be eligible to attend Defensive Driving School, but they are required to attend court to speak with the Judge regarding eligibility.

Administrative Dismissals (“Fix-It-Tickets”):

Some non-moving traffic citations are eligible to be dismissed at the Records Office with payment of Administrative Dismissal costs. These are referred to as “Fix-It-Tickets.” These include, but are not limited to: Window Tint Violations, some Light Law Violations, Bumper Law Violations, some Registration Violations, etc. Please come to the Lebanon Police Department Records Office at 1017 Sparta Pike, Lebanon, TN 37087 from 8 AM – 4:30 PM Monday through Friday (closed Holidays) to show proof of these violations being corrected and pay Administrative Dismissal costs. 

Payment Plans:

All matters that come before Judge Flood will be set on a payment plan. Defendants will be given notice in court of their payment schedule with amounts and due dates listed. Any questions regarding your payment plan can be done by calling or visiting the Lebanon Police Department Records office from 8 AM – 4:30 PM Monday through Friday (closed Holidays) at 1017 Sparta Pike Lebanon TN 37087, 615-443-2831. 

Juveniles:

Any juvenile that has been cited for a moving violation must appear in court with a parent or guardian per Judge Flood. Moving citations issued to juveniles may not be handled prior to court.

Continuance:

You may receive a one-time 30-day continuance. If you need a continuance, please call 615-443-2831 or visit the Police Department at 1017 Sparta Pike, Lebanon TN 37087. After you receive a one-time continuance, you must appear in court at the next scheduled court date.
